Code of Conduct
Dear colleagues and business partners,
As a wholesaler, importer and distributor of electrical equipment, accessories, water-filter systems and packaging, NODU GmbH has a particular responsibility to act safely, lawfully, reliably and sustainably.
This Code sets out the principles governing our work and provides clear guidance for dealings with colleagues, customers, suppliers, authorities and the public.
Our aim is to build lasting trust through fair business practices, safe products, transparent communication and consistent compliance with legal requirements.
Management of NODU GmbH
1. Our corporate values
1.1 Responsibility
As an importer and wholesaler, we are responsible for the products we place on the European market, especially electrical equipment, water-carrying systems, packaging and food-contact products. We carefully review products, documentation, certificates, labelling and safe use.
1.2 Quality and product safety
Customers must be able to rely on NODU products being safe, reliable and fit for purpose. Quality also requires clear instructions, accurate technical information, secure packaging, traceable supply chains and prompt support.
1.3 Compliance with the law
We comply with applicable laws, regulations, standards and official requirements, including product safety, CE conformity, electrical equipment, packaging, waste disposal, data protection, competition, tax, customs, imports and consumer protection.
1.4 Customer focus
We advise customers honestly, avoid misleading statements and recommend only suitable products. Complaints, safety reports and feedback are handled carefully and with a focus on solutions.
1.5 Fairness and respect
We treat employees, customers, suppliers and business partners professionally, respectfully and without discrimination. No one may be disadvantaged because of origin, religion, gender, age, disability, beliefs or personal way of life.
1.6 Sustainability
We use resources responsibly and consider environmental impacts when selecting, packaging, transporting, storing, disposing of and recycling products.
2. Conduct towards customers and business partners
2.1 Fair competition
NODU competes through quality, service, reliability and honest advice. Deception, price fixing, market manipulation and unfair business practices are prohibited. Statements about competitors must not be misleading, disparaging or unsubstantiated.
2.2 Anti-corruption and conflicts of interest
We reject corruption, bribery, facilitation payments and improper benefits. Gifts or invitations must never improperly influence business decisions. Potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
2.3 Working with suppliers
We expect suppliers to comply with the law, reject child and forced labour, provide safe working conditions, fair pay and lawful working hours, supply traceable product information and required test and conformity documents, and cooperate in audits and complaints.
NODU may terminate a supplier relationship where serious legal, safety or ethical violations are identified.
2.4 Reliable information and documentation
Technical data, product descriptions, certificates, test reports, instructions and advertising claims must be accurate, traceable and current. Unverified or exaggerated claims must not be passed on.
2.5 Customs, imports and trade rules
Imports require correct tariff codes, origin information, invoices, shipping documents, classifications and regulatory information. Deliberately false information intended to avoid duties, taxes, restrictions or compliance obligations is prohibited.
3. Product safety, compliance and importer responsibility
3.1 General product safety
Products must be safe for their intended use. Electrical, thermal, water, leakage, mechanical, food-contact and misuse risks must be assessed, minimised and clearly communicated.
3.2 Electrical equipment
Electrical equipment requires CE conformity, an EU declaration of conformity, instructions and warnings in the relevant language, compliance with electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility and substance restrictions, full traceability, and correct model, rating and manufacturer/importer labelling.
3.3 Packaging and food-contact products
Packaging, paper bowls, lids and other food-contact products require suitable materials, test reports and compliance with food law. Materials must not transfer prohibited substances; claims about use, temperature resistance, induction compatibility and single use must be accurate.
3.4 Water filters and water-carrying systems
Water filters, hose sets, pumps and related components require safe installation, clear connection and maintenance instructions, suitable materials and realistic performance claims. Suitable water sources, temperatures, pressures and uses must be stated.
3.5 Traceability and complaints
NODU records products, suppliers, batches, test documents and distribution routes so that quality problems, safety concerns and recalls can be handled quickly. Complaints and safety reports are reviewed and documented, and customers, suppliers or authorities are informed where required.
3.6 No deliberate circumvention
Practices intended to evade CE, WEEE, packaging, product-safety, food-contact, import or disposal obligations are not accepted.
4. Conduct towards employees
4.1 Human rights and employment law
We respect internationally recognised human rights and employment law. Forced labour, child labour, exploitation, trafficking, illegal employment and systematic denial of workers’ rights are not tolerated in our company or supply chain.
4.2 Occupational health and safety
Safety takes priority when handling electrical equipment, stock, pallets, tools, water connections, packaging and heavy goods. Employees must follow safety instructions and report hazards; managers must provide safe working conditions.
4.3 Respectful cooperation
Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, bullying and disrespectful conduct are prohibited. Criticism must be factual, constructive and professional.
4.4 Training and accountability
NODU promotes knowledge of product safety, sales, customer service, imports, compliance and technical use. Employees should ask questions, raise risks and take responsibility for their work.
5. Environment and sustainability
5.1 Packaging and recycling
We avoid unnecessary packaging where possible, favour recyclable materials and comply with registration, reporting and disposal duties.
5.2 Waste electrical equipment
We observe statutory registration, take-back and disposal requirements. Electrical equipment must not be treated as ordinary waste, and customers and partners receive appropriate disposal information.
5.3 Conserving resources
Procurement, storage and shipping should avoid unnecessary use of materials, energy and transport capacity.
5.4 Sustainable supply chains
We favour suppliers with transparent working conditions, traceable materials and demonstrable environmental measures.
6. Public conduct
6.1 Representing NODU
Employees may be perceived as NODU representatives with customers, at trade fairs, online or in public. Professional and responsible conduct is expected. Only authorised people may issue official statements for NODU GmbH.
6.2 Communications and advertising
Advertising must be truthful, substantiated and not misleading. False technical promises, unsupported health claims and unclear safety information are prohibited.
6.3 Political and religious neutrality
Personal views are respected but must not be presented as NODU’s position. Business communications remain neutral and respectful.
6.4 Donations and sponsorship
Donations and sponsorship must be transparent, voluntary and lawful and must not influence business decisions. NODU does not make donations to political parties or affiliated organisations.
7. Handling information
7.1 Data protection
Personal data is treated confidentially, processed only on a lawful basis and made accessible only to those who need it for their work.
7.2 Confidential business information
Internal information, prices, purchasing terms, supplier and customer data, technical documents, contracts, calculations and strategic plans must not be disclosed without authorisation.
7.3 Intellectual property
We respect third-party trade marks, copyright, designs, technical documents and trade secrets and protect NODU’s own intellectual property.
7.4 Digital security
Passwords, accounts, customer and product data and company systems must be used securely. Suspicious messages, data loss and security incidents must be reported immediately.
8. Reporting violations
Employees and business partners should report suspected violations of this Code, laws or safety requirements to management or the designated internal contact. Reports are treated confidentially, and good-faith reporters must not suffer retaliation.
9. Consequences of violations
Violations may have employment, civil or criminal consequences and may lead to termination of business relationships. NODU reviews every case fairly and proportionately.
10. Final provision
This Code is a binding framework for daily conduct. It supplements applicable law, internal processes and contractual obligations. Everyone working for or with NODU contributes to the company’s integrity and long-term success.
